I had struggled particularly with issues related to internalizing the nature and function of the CJEU and the difference between direct/indirect effect. I found the structure of Brendan's tutoring classes a lot clearer as each case was clearly situated in a development timeline. Additionally, there was a good balance between "lecture time" and questions for the student, which allowed for the routine checking over of knowledge procured in the previous class - I think this was essential especially for EU law, where the exams seemed to me to be very heavy on rules and definitions. Lastly, I found Brendan to be patient with errors in basic understanding and never felt like I was being penalized for asking something.

Brendan currently tutors me for EU Law.
