I contacted Rachel as a third level student to help me examine my summer assessment grades for my essay assignments and to explore how I could have done better. We dissected an essay of mine in which I felt I could have got a better grade. Rachel took me through the stages of formal essay structure, correct ways of introducing critical analysis and reflective analysis and the importance of format. We also explored appropriate language style needed in formal academic writing. I feel confident now in my ability going forward as a good academic writer during my masters. We closed with a direction for me to go before our next session. Mags is an accomplished sculptor and artist who has been sharing her passion with students for many years and her experience shows. Although she has, undoubtedly, taught more accomplished students than the beginner that I am, I would highly recommend Margaret for people who are beginning their creative journey.
