Iyad's feedback about George (Expert Piano tuition near Greenwich)
I’ve been having lessons with George for around 6 months and would highly recommend him. I first contacted him after taking a long hiatus from piano playing and needed some motivation and guidance. I had completed my grade 8 and BA in Music about a decade earlier and hadn’t really focused much on progress since then. George has been incredibly helpful in getting back into piano playing. Our lessons are varied depending on what I need help with - some lessons are deep dives into technical aspects like fingering, hand positioning, and pedal technique, and others are about understanding patterns in the music and concentrating on playing more musically. He is a passionate teacher and easy to learn from.
Jeanie's feedback about Marat (Intermediate Piano tuition near Greenwich)
Marat is a passionate teacher who strikes a good balance between improving your piano techniques and also developing your musicality. I would definitely recommend him. Marat is a quick and observant teacher. He was able to accurately access my piano skills and overall musical abilities within several lessons and recommends appropriate pieces to start with. He has a knack for pinpointing my weaknesses and suggests effectively practices accordingly. He is also very open-minded to what I hope to achieve with these lessons and then adjusts his teaching plan to help me progress towards my goals steadily. That said, Marat is not the kind of teachers who let you play whatever you want willy-nilly, he surely adheres to his teaching philosophy which emphasises fostering all aspects, including techniques, aural skills, music theory and imagination that make a proper musician. I had plenty of piano lessons as a kid but unfortunately with some awful, soulless teachers. They never left me feeling more than just a mindless piano exam taking robot who would evaporate without a piano score. After studying with Marat for 6 months, the way I ‘feel’ when I play the piano have become more interesting and joyous: I hear more things when I play, I am not utterly useless without a score, I can more readily see connections between different musical ideas and the things that I am playing. I credit this to Marat’s teaching. Finally, Marat is truly passionate about music and teaching. He is always happy to listen to your questions and give thoughtful answers. His famous saying is “I can spend hours talking about [a topic]”. Having lessons with him feels like going through a musical journey.
Meihua's feedback about Alexander (Beginner Piano tuition near Greenwich)
Alex is very patient with children and friendly.
Alexandra's feedback about Jonathan (Beginner Piano tuition near Greenwich)
Jonathan is an excellent piano player and a great teacher. I started as a complete beginner and he has been teaching me for over 2 years. He's always helpful and flexible. He gives me lots of useful tips when I struggle with a piece and is super patient. During the pandemic he held the lessons remotely and this worked really well. I'm really grateful for his guidance in learning to play the piano and can highly recommend him.
Venice's feedback about Melissa (Beginner Piano tuition near Greenwich)
Melissa is an awesome piano teacher (in fact the best out there). Her approach and skills for teaching adults are highly effective. Melissa patiently helps me form good piano habits which were often overlooked by my other teachers in the past. When it comes to sport and music, usually I am quite difficult to teach (especially when I am already in my 30s), but with Melissa's effective approach, my piano has improved so much within such a short time period. What I also like about Melissa is her professionalism and punctuality - never late a single time, ever ! Very lucky to have a teacher like Melissa!
