Chris's feedback about Philip (Intermediate Double Bass tuition near Forest Hill)
Philip is a fantastic teacher, who embodies an infectious joy and dedication for bass playing and a wide range of music. I came to him as jazz bass player looking to improve my arco playing and he has helped me tremendously. I would highly recommend him to anyone else seeking lessons.
Lisa's feedback about Lilya (Beginner Flute tuition near Forest Hill)
Lilya is an excellent flute teacher! I looked forward to my lessons with her every week. As an adult beginner I did not always practice as much as I should, but Lilya is patient and understanding. As a result lessons were never stressful. She is very knowledgeable, and teaches proper playing technique. Aside from this, she also inspired me to properly appreciate classical music which has motivated me to improve more than ever. I would recommend Lilya to anyone looking for a flute teacher, you will definitely make good progress!
Bonnie's feedback about Jernej (Expert Clarinet tuition near Forest Hill)

Louise's feedback about Jill (Beginner Piano tuition near Forest Hill)
So far, we have found Jill to be a perfect match for my 10 year old son with special needs. She is focused, informative, knowledgeable, passionate and able to engage him with similes and fun activities to do whilst progressing at a steady pace through the supporting books. We would certainly recommend. Updated 10.07.23: Sourcing professionals capable of teaching any subject to my 11 year old son with complex special needs is anxiety-provoking. His conditions include ADHD, ODD, SPD, social communication difficulties and anxiety as well as the physical challenges of poor muscle strength affecting balance, posture and writing. He is often misunderstood which often leads to escalation of his emotions and subsequent behaviour. His interest in music led us to seek out piano lessons to meet a number of his therapeutic goals. We were fortunate enough to find Jill whose approach is exemplary. Whilst it is obvious that she is an accomplished musician, the ability to slow down to the pace required to teach my son, shows patience and professionalism. Her excellent teaching skills have enabled her to find the perfect balance of firmness & compassion, challenge & flexibility, ability to engage & progress. The lessons advance at a pace suitable for someone who often refuses to practice and yet progress is being made and learning taking place through Jill’s outstanding patience, knowing when to press for more, when to try a different approach, and when to move on. She has the ability to focus on the lesson when my son is distracted, sitting on the floor or playing the keys whilst she is speaking with him, gently drawing him back into the lesson with suggestions of how they can achieve the task together, rarely receiving verbal feedback but encouraging this where possible. I will always be truly grateful to Jill for providing my son with the best possible introduction to music I could ever have hoped for and helping him gain confidence in his ability to achieve. I would recommend her to both neuro-typical and neuro-diverse students alike.

Kristin is very nice and able to cope with young child. My daughter enjoys learning violin with her.
Molly's feedback about Emily (Intermediate Singing tuition near Forest Hill)

Anna's feedback about Madeline (Beginner Cello tuition near Forest Hill)
We chose Madeline because of her impressive CV. I can say that not only is Madeline clearly amazingly talented, she also has an incredible teaching style. Our 8 dear old, 'spirited', child has been thoroughly enjoying her cello lessons and has made such rapid progress. Madeline has been mixing up cello with some musicianship skills and our daughter is highly motivated and highly engaged. We're really pleased we've found such an excellent teacher local to us. Thanks Maddie.
Alisa's feedback about Jernej (Beginner Flute tuition near Forest Hill)
Jernej is a really pedagogical, personable and a great overall professional teacher which has inspired me to be creative and continue to play! I always look forward to our flute sessions. 5 stars!
Arabella's feedback about Isaac Hunter (Intermediate Piano tuition near Forest Hill)
Hunter is really professional and quick to answer any queries I’ve had. He was keen to understand and get to know my playing experience, be clear about his expertise and understand my aspirations from the start. His knowledge of his subject and the way he applies it to teaching piano is great to experience. For example he noticed a trend in my mistakes when sight-reading and explained it so that I can easily spot and correct it while teaching me / revising intervals at the same time. Finger and music theory exercises we’re working on are extremely helpful too. He adapts teaching to my goals and I’m excited to see and hear how my playing will develop.
