Personal Description:

Qualified teacher with a PhD in physics and years of experience teaching physics and mathematics (secondary school and university-level). My approach is supportive and personalised, aiming to build confidence and a deep understanding of the subject.

Tutoring Experience:

I started tutoring students privately during my time as a PhD student at the University of Glasgow and I then continued developing my teaching skills during a postdoctoral fellowship in New Zealand where I had the opportunity to contribute my teaching in the undergraduate physics laboratories. Subsequently, I trained for the required teaching qualifications and teaching council registration to teach in secondary schools. After my experience teaching secondary school mathematics and physics I transitioned into a teaching position at Massey University, New Zealand, where I taught physics to undergraduate students for 6 years.

Tutoring Approach:

When first meeting students I clarify how I may best assist them. Lessons are carefully planned to be as helpful as possible.

Lessons are offered entirely online, where I make use of a webcam and shared whiteboard space in addition to setting up a site for sharing resources personalised for each student.
