Personal Description:
I sat my Leaving Cert in 2019 and I'm offering grinds in the subjects that I got H1s in. All of my H1s in the Leaving Cert were 95% or higher. I'm also offering general help on study and exam techniques. I am a double graduate of the University of Galway, and am currently doing my masters degree at the Paris School of Economics. I received the NUIG university Excellence Scholarship for academic achievement and an award for having the highest first year and second year results in all of Commerce (>500 students).
I have also completed a Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge C1 in 2021, achieving a high first class honours.
I am hoping to become a teacher in future. I am friendly and hardworking and I am interested in helping others achieve their best. Please contact me if you have any questions or want any more information.
Tutoring Experience:
I have given formal grinds to over 40 students since September of 2019. I believe that grinds are most effective when the teacher is someone who has just gone through the whole Leaving Cert process, instead of going into another classroom situation in a study centre.
Approach to Grinds:
As a grinds teacher, I concentrate on helping students to understand and figure things out without having to ro**Contact Detail Removed**arn huge amounts of information. I teach students using techniques that I personally found helpful in achieving exam success. I believe that a positive relationship between the teacher and student is very beneficial so that the student has no problem asking questions that they couldn't ask in a large class. I teach using a combination of going through examples, explanations, past exam questions and other exercises and I provide my personal H1 standard essays and notes in all subjects.
In Irish and French the oral exam is a major component of the grades and I concentrate on students' oral grammar and pronunciation to improve their conversation skills. In my Irish Oral for Leaving Cert I recieved 99% without ever going to the Gaeltacht and 96% in French without attending any French course etc. I will share my Oral exam techniques with students. I also offer mock orals to students to help them assess their level and improve their grade.

He explains everything very clearly to her and very accommodating on times also
We are very glad to have him as her Tutor
Samuel is a very friendly and approachable tutor and our son feels very at ease during the study sessions.
We would highly recommend Samual as a tutor.
Highly professional, with excellent teaching plans, we are impressed at the knowledge gained by our teens. To give an indication of our satisfaction with Samuel, we began with just Leaving Cert Chemistry; that has now broadened to Leaving Cert Physics and another teen doing 5th Year Chemistry. Tá tú thar cionn Sam. Le mór mheas, Máthair Sásta
Very friendly and accommodating.
Highly recommended.
