Information About Rebecca - Oldcastle tutor

Personal Description:

Fluent Irish Speaker and Primary school teacher currently working in a Gaelscoil. I am based in Emo, Co. Laois.

Tutoring Experience:

I provide support to primary school children with homework in any area, Irish grinds, and grinds to children with dyslexia.
I have taught across all class levels and have provided home tuition to children in each of the above areas.
I was trained by the Dyslexia Association Ireland to offer tuition to children with Dyslexia.

Approach to Grinds:

I offer 45 minute classes. However, in some cases I offer 30 minute classes at a reduced rate depending on age of the child and their ability to focus.
I think the most important thing for me is building a child's confidence with school work, in particular children with dyslexia.
I am a fluent Irish speaker, having never attended a Gaelscoil as a child. Again, I strive to help children to become more confident with Irish, as I often doubted myself as a child having never come from an Irish speaking background.
I am a teacher in a Gaelscoil and therefore am happy to help children with any Irish homework and work on grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, etc… I can also offer mock Irish orals to leaving cert students.
I ensure to try to create a relationship with my students so that they feel comfortable to ask questions and enjoy coming to my classes.
I am very understanding that children come to my classes after a full day of school and possibly afterschool activities. I try to get the best out of my students in a relaxed, enjoyable, yet all the while educational environment.
