Personal Description:

I am an SEN, History, Maths and Music teacher. I have 12 years experience teaching in a variety of educational settings. I currently am the Special Education Needs Coordinator within my school which makes me responsible for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism. My view in the future will be to further my study in this area of education. I am a teacher in Dublin 9 and live in Dublin 24 so I am happy to commute throughout the county where possible.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 12 years teaching experience where I teach Music and History up to Leaving Cert (HL). Furthermore I teach Maths to Junior Certificate (HL) and Maths plays a key role in my SEN teaching. Furthermore, I am a qualified SEN/Resource teacher. I have coordinated the SEN department within my school for over five years where I plan and assist students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism etc. Within the resource department part of my job is to teach students study and essay writing skills in order for them to improve their writing skills across the curriculum.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to education is always an inclusive one whereby I use a variety of activities to cater for all students. This is how I approach grinds. I use a variety of teaching methods such as visual aids, effective note taking, study skills and exam technique. I approach grinds in an active manner and students work hard in each session and respond well. I strongly cater for a one to one setting as I have much experience teaching in this setting within my everyday job.
