Information About Mihailo - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

I am a second year Engineering student at Trinity and intend to graduate with a Masters in Electronic Engineering. I aspire to work with emerging technologies and develop new technologies to make the world a better place. I won a highly commended award in the technology category at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition 2017 which ignited this passion.
I am an avid chess player. As a junior, I won the all Ireland under 14's championship and have since then I have represented Ireland at an international level.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and playing basketball and tennis, among a variety of other sports.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught chess privately since 2018 with great success. It has been a great pleasure passing on my knowledge in a subject at which I am adept. I have also taught small groups chess voluntarily in the past.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that the teaching style in our schools is far too formulaic, teaching children methods to maximise grades rather than teaching for understanding. I will take a practical approach in explaining how things work - from the ground up if necessary - offering intuitive explanations and frequent examples and applications of the methods being taught. In this way I believe that students will be able to advance their comprehension of the subject, improving grades as well as their appreciation for the subject.
