Personal Description:

Hello, I am Mihaela and I am a passionate tutor based in Waterford, currently studying Law at SETU and excelling at the top of my class. I completed my Leaving Certificate in 2023 with H1 grades in English, Geography, Politics (amongst other subjects). With a fresh and thorough understanding of these subjects, I am eager to help students achieve outstanding results. My goal is to inspire and guide young minds towards academic excellence and confidence in their abilities. Whether you need support in English, Geography, Politics, I'm here to help you succeed.

Tutoring Experience:

Although I have not tutored professionally, I have a wealth of experience helping peers and friends achieve academic success. I have provided informal tutoring sessions at my home, assisting classmates with their Leaving Cert preparation. Additionally, I helped a friend prepare for her oral exam, resulting in her excelling in the test. The students I have guided have all seen significant improvements in their exam results, which speaks to my effective teaching methods and dedication to their success.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds is highly personalised and student-centred, acknowledging that each student has a unique way of learning. Whether a student benefits most from speaking, writing, colour coding, or visual aids like pictures, I adapt my teaching methods to meet their individual needs. While I enjoy creating detailed notes, smaller mind maps, and using a whiteboard to clarify complex concepts, it’s important to note that I am not a teacher, but a tutor or helper. My role is to complement the work done by school teachers, not to replace them. This means I’m here to support students who already have some foundational understanding of the subject but may be struggling to grasp certain aspects. I am not equipped to teach a subject from scratch to a student with no prior knowledge. Instead, I focus on reinforcing what students have learned in school, helping them overcome difficulties and ensuring they can retain and understand key information effectively. My aim is to make learning engaging and productive, guiding students toward achieving excellent results in their exams by enhancing their existing classroom experience.
