Information About Mehak - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Mehak and I am currently a second-year medical student in Ireland. I completed my IB (International Baccalaureate) from an international school in Singapore. During the IB diploma, my higher-level subjects were Literature, Biology, and Chemistry. Having spent two years rigorously studying these subjects, I have a strong grasp of the content covered. Studying medicine currently further strengthens my knowledge related to biology and my passion for the subject enables me to enjoy the learning and teaching process.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had the opportunity to tutor students in my highschool throughout grades 11 and 12. My passion for biology led me to tutor this subject at IB higher level and standard level. During the course of my tutoring journey, I taught students with learning disabilities as well, further building my skills and acumen as a tutor. Despite not having a lot of experience when I started out, I was able to help my tutees reach their target goal in biology and appreciate the intricacies of the subject so that they started enjoying the process of learning.

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that each student's learning style is different and hence as a tutor, in order to help a student understand, I will need to adapt my teaching strategies to a way in which the tutee is able to comprehend and retain concepts. For example, if I come to the understanding that a tutee is a visual learner, I will teach them the content through pictures, drawings, and videos. In order to achieve the best outcomes, I will strategize my teaching techniques to cater to the student so that they understand the concepts while having a good time learning. I truly believe that when someone enjoys what they learn, they perform better and my aim as a tutor will be to make the learning process more enjoyable for tutees so that they can achieve their goals. Having had experience teaching a wide range of students, including those that have learning disabilities, I am confident that I will be able to modify my teaching approach to the student in an efficient manner so they can learn while having a good time and accomplish their goals.
