Personal Description:

Hello!!! My name is Lorna, I'm 19 years old and I completed my leaving cert in 2022, receiving 5 H1's and 2 H2's (613 points).

Biology was my favorite subject in school and I received a H1 in my leaving cert exam. I am studying pharmacy in the Royal College of Surgeons this year as a result of how much science fascinates me.

Tutoring Experience:

I have very current knowledge into what is expected and necessary for student to accomplish during their exam year, as I sat my leaving cert recently, and therefore I am ready to teach students all that I know and found useful whilst studying.

I tutored three students in biology last year, and absolutely loved helping them with the course and I'm so proud of what each of them achieved in their leaving cert.

Approach to Grinds:

I am available to teach biology through both Irish and English.

My approach to teaching is to revise + study the course whilst specifically focusing on any areas of difficulty (i confer with students to decide which chapters they feel they need extra focus/help with)

I have created powerpoints for each chapter, including images and additional notes, so that the topic or concept can be conveyed more clearly and better understood. I like to make the classes interactive so I generally will have a kahoot or some practice/exam questions to work on alongside the student.

I have made lots of notes throughout the years which I will always be happy to use and share. I am very open to using different study material and teaching methods that might better suit a student needs.
