Personal Description:

Dedicated and experienced teacher of Geography (JC and LC) for the last 2 years in a Dublin school. I have achieved excellent results with JC and LC students in both subjects and pride myself on my engaging and focused approach to teaching.

I am extremely passionate about my subject and communicate this to my students. I also regularly engage with continuous professional development (CPD) courses to stay up to date with new teaching pedagogy and changes to curricula and assessment in my subjects.

I work well with students of all abilities to help them recognise and achieve their potential. Grinds will be tailored to the student's needs, be that exam focused or general support in the subject.

Achieved a 1.1 in Professional Masters of Education. Previously achieved a 1.1 in Masters of Arts in Psychology and worked as a behavioural tutor in an Autism school for 3 years which enabled me to develop a focus on differentiation strategies to ensure students of all abilities can achieve.

Tutoring Experience:

I have extensive experience teaching higher and ordinary levels in Leaving Certificate (LC) and Junior Cycle (JC) Geography. My career includes teaching in a Dublin school for two years and an Autism school for 3 years. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the curricula for these subjects and an appreciation of different learning styles. This experience has also equipped me with strong skills in exam technique and preparation, allowing me to effectively support students in achieving their academic goals.

Approach to Grinds:

Each student has a unique learning style, so it's crucial for me to understand how they approach their studies from the outset.

Once I identify their learning style and goals for the subject, I tailor each session to be focused and well-paced, ensuring that the student gains confidence in the material and their ability to succeed in JC and LC assessments.

Throughout the tutoring process, I provide notes and sample answers, and offer various formative assessments tailored to the student's needs.
