Information About Kate - Oldcastle tutor

Personal Description:

Hi everyone! My name is Kate and I am a student spending my Erasmus year in the south of France. I am undertaking a double degree of Law and French, with certain modules through Irish. I have a keen interest in languages, having spent time in both the Connemara and Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltachts. I enjoy hiking and sea swimming.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored a junior cert student in Irish. He was pleasantly surprised with his results.
I have tutored a leaving cert student online as his teacher was absent for a long period and a replacement was not found. I taught him techniques for the aural exam, how to navigate the scrúdú béil, a guide for paper 1 and the poems and prose sections. In my own leaving cert, I achieved a H1 in every element of the papers: written, aural and oral.

Approach to Grinds:

My lessons will be carried out online. These can be in a group or separately as specified by the student themselves. For the most part the class will be conducted through the language they are studying but this will be a gradual process over the course of the classes so as not to make anyone feel overwhelmed. Immersion is very important and it will be kindly encouraged that students make an effort to express themselves through Irish or French.
