Information About James - Abbeyleix tutor

Personal Description:

My name is James. I am a Primary School Teacher, currently in the ninth year of my teaching career. I qualified with a Bachelor of Education degree from St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra in 2014 and recently graduated with a Masters in Education from Dublin City University. I am friendly, approachable and encouraging. I have a number of wide and varied interests. In addition to my teaching career, I have experience working with children in other settings including training sports teams, summer camps, and coaching juvenile golf. I am available for homework help and grinds on weekday evenings in Portlaoise / Abbeyleix / surrounding areas.

Tutoring Experience:

To date, I have experience teaching a variety of class levels. I have worked as a Learning Support teacher for two years and through this I gained experience working with children who required a range of additional supports to help them reach their full potential in school. I have taught a range of mainstream classes including Senior Infants, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth classes. I am currently teaching Fourth Class in County Kildare.

Approach to Grinds:

My teaching philosophy is rooted in positivity. I believe in the power of encouragement and positive affirmation. As a result, my grind lessons or homework help will be provided in an encouraging atmosphere with the needs of the child to the forefront at all times. I would like to tap into the children's interests where possible and aim to build an interest in the material being covered.
