Personal Description:
I'm a 4th year chemical engineering student. I am passionate about chemistry and physics, hence the study choice. I am an avid reader, and spend much of my free time reading classics, non-fiction and historical fiction as well as writing for pleasure. I play the guitar, and dabble in painting. I also enjoy studying astronomy and theoretical physics and philosophy in my spare time. I have a deep love for animals and am passionate about helping young students and individuals discover their true potential.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been tutoring for more than 6 years now and have worked at private homeschooling institutions as well as reputable Math and Science tutoring centres where I assisted all ages up until University level, in various subjects, with a focus on Maths and Science as well as English. I also have experience working with adult learners who wish to pursue an alternative career path and just need the extra help and motivation.
I have tutored Maths, Physical science, English and accounting at junior and senior level.
Approach to Grinds:
My approach to tutoring is one of self discovery. I endeavour to help my students understand the core concepts, so that they may apply this to any problem they face. This avoids 'parrot learning' and allows them to fully comprehend the questions they're asked, and engage with the content in a meaningful way. My approach is geared towards creating a more positive mindset towards subjects that seem daunting and have given challenges in the past.
I am very patient and will not step away from a problem until I am certain that my tutee understands fully.
I endeavor to also teach my students helpful and productive study methods so they can gain some confidence in their school work.
