Personal Description:
My name is Bláithín and I'm offering grinds to get you prepared for oral exams in French and Spanish.
Having lived in both France and Spain I hold a C1+ level in both languages, as well as Italian.
I am in my third year of Studying French, Spanish and Italian in University of Galway (formerly NUIG) and am currently living in Italy.
I studied both French and Spanish for Leaving Cert and received a H1 grade in both.
I received the NUIG Excellence Scholarship for academic achievement in recognition of my high Leaving Certificate points.
I also received the Dr H H Stewart Literary Scholarship in French, meaning that I had the highest marks in French of any Irish University student for my first year exams, as well as a commendation in the same scholarship for Italian.
I am a very enthusiastic, organised and creative person. I love art and travelling, and I study languages because I love meeting and talking to new people from all over the world.
Tutoring Experience:
Last year have taught French in secondary schools in Ireland part time, and currently my day job involves teaching English to pupils in a range of Primary and Secondary schools in Italy.
I've also taught English to adult immigrants in Ireland.
I've taught French and Spanish grinds online since last year. As well as my teaching experience, I also write children's books which focus on early introduction of foreign language for kids.
Approach to Grinds:
Having completed my Leaving Cert exams just 3 years ago, I know the course syllabus inside and out!
I know the frustration of learning a language in a group setting, and very often I see bright students become disheartened because of this.
I believe that the best way to learn a language is to tailor it to your specific need and interests, and so in my first class with you I will establish what your particular goals are and come up with a plan to get you where you need to be.
I also use a variety of media to help you learn, including carefully designed and decorated Presentations, Video and audio content and interactive platforms such as Jamboard and Kahoot so that you can get the most out of your classes with me.
