Personal Description:

My name is Barry and I am currently teaching in the Ennis area. My qualifications include a Masters Degree in Information and Communications Technology, along with a previous Bachelors degree in Education and Psychology.

In my opinion, every individual has a huge capacity to learn but some require a little support to achieve this end. This is what I would hope to assist with through my tutoring.

Tutoring Experience:

I am presently teaching in a DÉIS 2 school and have been for the last 12 years with experience of a wide variety of class groups. My current role includes that of Assistant Principal 2.

In my past 3 years, I have worked as a special education teacher and have signifcant experience of engaging with different learning styles and abilities.

I am registered with the Teaching Council and have current Garda vetting.

I qualified from Mary Immaculate College Limerick with a combined B.Ed and B.A. in Psychology (first-class honours). I have extensive experience of helping children with challenging behaviour, dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD.

I am also involved in training a local GAA club teams and have a great understanding of childrens' motivations, aspirations and capabilities.

Approach to Grinds:

I am very aware of the differences in how students learn and of the different speeds at which they do so. I have taught many ability levels and learning styles. Thoughtful and patient support will be provided and my emphasis is on making the learner as comfortable as possible. I can promise thorough tutoring support, feedback and progress.
