Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Dolapo, and the two things I love most are science and talking, so it seems teaching is my calling. Not too long ago, I was preparing for my Junior Cert and Leaving Cert, and I can still remember the nerves that came with that experience. I was fortunate enough to earn a Distinction (along with top scores in all my other JC subjects) and am currently pursuing my studies as a medical student at a Russell Group university in the UK! I'm excited to share some of the tips I wish someone had told me when I was 15, thinking it was the end of the world if I did poorly on one test.
Over the years, I’ve developed a strong passion for science, and I’m excited to help others understand that it's never as hard as it seems. Through my tips and tricks, I’ll help you navigate the major topics in science with ease.
We can meet to discuss the areas you're struggling with and consolidate previous learning. I hope my experience as a student will allow me to provide you with a personal, enthusiastic approach to the Junior Cert science curriculum.
If you're looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely dedicated to helping you succeed, I’d love to work with you!
Tutoring Experience:
Having achieved top grades in my Junior and Leaving Cert, I have created effective study strategies and a deep understanding of the source material, which I am eager to share with others.
* Medical school teaching for practical exams
* Science teaching in medical school
* Random 1-on-1 sessions with friends and family on topics they're struggling with
* Gymnastics coach for a year - a wonderful experience teaching teens
While I don’t have formal teaching experience, I’ve gained valuable tutoring skills through informal peer mentoring and helping classmates and family members with their studies, particularly in Science.
Approach to Grinds:
~ 1 hour lesson
* 5 mins - Go over concepts from previous lesson w/ questions
* 40 mins - New content
* 10 mins - exam paper Q's to consolidate learning
* 5 mins - go over any topics they're struggling with at school
* Give student Q's to do for consolidation to review next lesson - homework
