Information About Simran
Brampton tutorPersonal Description:
Hi! I’m a passionate and empathetic tutor with a background in Psychology and a strong foundation in both education and social sciences. I love helping students grow in confidence, build strong academic habits, and reach their full potential—whether it's mastering multiplication or finding their voice in writing. I’m especially experienced with younger learners and bring patience, creativity, and warmth to every session.
Outside of tutoring, I’ve worked in research, volunteered for mental health services, and have a deep interest in child development and learning styles. I believe that learning should feel safe, empowering, and even fun!
Tutoring Experience:
I have several years of experience tutoring students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in Math and English, both in-person and online. I’ve also supported high school and college-level students in Psychology and Social Science courses, helping with concepts, assignments, and exam prep.
My background includes:
Volunteering with the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline
Research experience with Queen’s University and Sikhs for Autism
Tutoring and mentoring students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds
These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with learners and tailor support in a way that suits their unique needs.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is student-centered, encouraging, and flexible. I start by getting to know the student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style, then build customized sessions that are both supportive and goal-oriented.
Whether we’re reviewing tricky math concepts, building literacy skills, or exploring psychology theories, I always create a space where students feel heard and motivated. I use a mix of visuals, hands-on examples, and guided practice to keep things engaging and make learning stick.
