Scott has the three necessary attributes to qualify for being described as a Tutor/Instructor. Firstly, it may seem as though this is stating the obvious but Scott knows his subject. Not all who set-up as tutors in various fields have the advanced level of knowledge to instruct others. Secondly, he has the 'consultant' approach in that he doesn't have the 'one size fits all' mentality. He treats people as individuals and 'prescribes', in the manner of a consultant, the appropriate course of action to help the student to achieve his goals. Thirdly, he is an effective 'transceiver' in that he has good listening skills to receive information and good communication skills to transmit to the student his thoughts and instructions. Oh, and he has a pretty good sense of humour. Who was it that said Canadians don't laugh?

I’m really happy that we have found a tutor like Scott. My first impression of him was that he was very pleasant, easy to talk to and quite relaxed. My daughter really enjoys her weekly lessons and is learning new tunes almost every week. I think that if you have a good teacher, it makes learning easier and really enjoyable, which I believe is key. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone wanting to learn violin.
