I decided at the age of 50 and never playing a musical instrument or being able to read music to finally fulfill a dream of learning to play the alto saxophone . Having Leo as my tutor has been amazing not only is he patient but really has been great at helping me start my dream of learning music . In 5 weeks I feel I have made brilliant progress thanks to Leo , something I wasn’t sure I would achieve. I have lessons weekly and Leo leaves me with exercises to work on though out the week . I definitely feel I have the right tutor for me .

Leo was punctual for our lesson, and actually took longer than the booked hour for our lesson. He was attentive and patient, and I managed to play a whole range of notes on my oboe, and even had tips on reed tuning, embouchure, tongueing for staccato, observance of dynamics, rhythm and key theory lessons. For difficult high and low notes, the process of resolving issues was fingering comparisons with my thumbplate oboe with his conservatoire system oboe, and deductions about reed positioning and use, and embouchure trials. He was very encouraging, and helpful with advice about types of oboes to buy in the future. I was very happy with my first oboe lesson with Leo.
