Personal Description:
Hi, I'm a considerate and a humour person, so if you would like to study without any pressure and someone who can freely communicate with, I'm your good choice. I also consider as a caring person, and I pay a lot attention on the foundation work, for me, once you have a good foundation you will rarely go hurt yourself in playing guitar and enjoying singing.
I hold a Diploma in Music from the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), majoring in Classical Guitar under Mr. Stanley Chin. I studied Classical Voice as minor subject under Mr. Solomon Chong at the age of 19, and obtained Grade 8 Certificate with Distinction in Singing under the Trinity London, Grade 8 Trinity Certificate with Merit in Classical Guitar, Advanced Choral Certificate from Trinity with Distinction with the MIA Mixed Choir in 2014, and Grade 8 Certificate with Merit in Music Theory (ABRSM). I'm now studying Classical and Operatic Voice at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
As a vocalist, I have participated in numerous events and competitions. In 2014, I achieved a Gold Award in Singing in the Asia Arts Festival in Singapore, a Silver Award with Sungai Way Club conducted by Mr. Tony Sim in the 1st Singapore International Choral Festival, and a Silver Award in the 2nd Voice of Asia Competition under the Malaysian Institute of Art, tutored by Ms. Susanna Saw. Moreover, I participated in the 12th Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod organised by the Young Choral Academy. In 2015, I performed with the Kuala Lumpur Vocal Ensemble in the 1st Voichestra in Concert. As part of the Klang Chamber Choir conducted by Mr.Lee Shiak Yao, we performed at the Hua Zong Literature Award organised by Sin Chew Daily, and the Yue Yun Choir conducted by Dr. Yap Jin Hin in their inaugural concert at SJK(C) Yuk Chai. I also participated in Sing'n'Joy China 2015, the International Choral Festival at Shunde-Foshan, as part of the YCA Teacher Ensemble conducted by Mr. Mak Chi Hoe. Sung Carmina Burana as chorus member in the year of 2016. 2017 I am part of chorus in Marriage of Figaro, singing Matt of The Mint in The Beggar's Opera, soloist in Global Voices Multilingual Choral Project's premier, composed by Franklin Heather. In same year winter, I performed Leporello of Mozart's Don Giovanni opera in Opera Scene organised by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in Spring. In 2018 I sing as a chorus in La Vie Parisienne opera by Offenbach. My recent performance included Dr. Pangloss in Candide by Bernstein in opera scene, Maestro Spinelloccio and Guccio in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini performed in Rudby and with LGSO in London, Sprecher in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in Crescent Theatre.
Tutoring Experience:
I have more than 6 years in teaching Guitar and Singing. I teach Classical Vocal, Pop Vocal, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and sing and play guitar.
