Personal Description:

I have studied music to degree level (including two diplomas) and have gained a wealth of experience playing live music on piano and electronic keyboards as well as many years on electric and pipe organs. My study has included history of music, music performance skills, improvisation, composition and arranging, as well as musical production and technology. I have acted as an accompanist and as musical director in shows as well as arranging concerts.

Tutoring Experience:

I having been teaching students piano and keyboards in and around the Seaford area for the past 20 years. I have prepared many students for practical & theoretical music exams as well as giving guidance on school homework (GCSE & A Level music).

My ability to instruct pop, classical, jazz, blues and other genres will give students that extra edge enabling them to become proficient in a variety of musical tastes and styles.

Lessons are currently all online.

Tutoring Approach:

Whatever your background, I am prepared to teach anyone who is willing to learn. Adults who have never played before, why not give it a go - you may be pleasantly surprised!

Whether you are keen to progress through exams or play for general pleasure, I will guide you along with patience, encouragement and understanding. I have been DBS checked for your peace of mind

You may want to learn a few tunes as your party piece at Christmas or you plan to make it your career, my aim is to help you achieve your ambition. Learning to play an instrument can be very rewarding. But to become proficient takes regular practice, understanding and a certain determination to succeed. However, there is no reason why you cannot fulfil your dreams and master your chosen instrument.

I hope students will obtain important attributes, such as commitment, perseverance and personal responsibility in what they do. I want them to love the music they learn and enjoy what they perform so that they will ultimately become skilled pianists or keyboardists. But above all, it is my hope that the student will develop a personal sense of achievement through their accomplishments, gaining self-confidence and self-esteem.
