Tutoring Experience:
I have had regular teaching now for well over 10 years, both private students during the week as well as teaching at a Saturday music school. With these years of experience I have built up a good understanding and knowledge of how best to guide and mentor pupils. I love seeing the growth and progress of pupils I teach.
Tutoring Approach:
I am happy to teach complete beginners all the way to Grade 8 and beyond. I try to make my lessons fun but also challenging and varied. I strive to inspire pupils and tailor my teaching to suit individual needs. I teach with a balance of technique and repertoire learning, as well as aural skills and music theory if needed for exams. My aim is to improve pupils overall as
musicians, in addition to more specific instrumental skills.
I will gently encourage pupils to take graded exams, as I believe these add structure, goals and a sense of achievement. Graded exams are also valuable when progressing to through education and for your C.V. Exams aren’t for everybody though and
ultimately, I simply wish to provide engaging, quality lessons.
