Personal Description:
I am a professional pianist, session musician, and experienced piano teacher with a passion for helping students achieve their musical goals. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Canterbury Christ Church University and a Postgraduate Degree from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I specialized in jazz piano and contemporary performance.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of studying under renowned piano educators Nikki Iles, Simon Purcell, and Malcolm Edmonstone, who have greatly influenced my approach to performance and teaching.
As a performer, I’ve played keyboards for acclaimed pop bands including Kit Sebastian, Geowulf, and SHOLTO, and I am an active session musician. My career has taken me across the UK and Europe, performing in diverse venues and festivals.
In my teaching practice, I prepare students for grade exams in classical, jazz, and pop, tailoring lessons to suit each individual’s aspirations and musical interests. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, my goal is to make learning piano enjoyable, rewarding, and inspiring.
I look forward to sharing my expertise and helping you reach your full potential on the piano!
Tutoring Experience:
Since 2011, I have led bands and developed extensive experience as both a performer and educator. I have taught privately in London and at various institutions, with notable roles at Dartford Grammar School and Wilmington Grammar School. Over the years, I have successfully prepared students for classical, jazz, and pop exams. Additionally, I have led masterclasses for jazz students and run ensembles for secondary school bands, fostering creativity and collaboration in young musicians. My teaching approach is personalized, ensuring each student receives the guidance they need to thrive in their musical journey.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a strong ability to connect with both children and adults, creating a comfortable and supportive environment for learning. My goal is to help each student reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love of music. Whether you are pursuing music as a hobby or as an academic focus, I adapt my teaching style to meet your needs and help you succeed. I regularly teach students as young as 6 and adults in their late 60s, so I’m experienced in tailoring my approach to suit a wide range of ages and learning styles, ensuring that every student can thrive.
