Information About Thomas - Manchester teacher

Personal Description:

I am a clarinettist at an early stage in my career, and am passionate about teaching. I have recently completed my postgraduate degree in Clarinet performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, and graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Music (First Class) in 2021. I have had lots of experience playing as a soloist, and also in chamber groups, orchestras, pit orchestras and jazz bands, as well as developing a keen interest in the academic sides of music through my studies.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught a range of abilites, from beginner to advanced, including undergraduates at RNCM. I am currently a woodwind teacher for secondary schools around Manchester. My teaching experience includes working with children and adults in both one-to-one and group settings.

Tutoring Approach:

I adapt my approach to the interests and needs of each student. As well as increasing the student's proficiency on the instrument, I aim to develop their general musical skills including ensemble playing, improvisation, and critical listening through a variety of exercises.
