Personal Description:
My musical education began at St Mary's Music School in Edinburgh where I studied flute and piano. I graduated from the Royal College of Music with First Class Honours in 2014, where I was awarded the RCM Flute Prize as well as the Knight's of the Round Table Award. I have performed in many of the UK's most prestigious venues and music festivals and many of my performances have been aired across BBC Radio and **Contact Detail Removed**vision. I am an experienced performer of solo, chamber and orchestral music and have been taught by some of the greatest teachers and performers of today including Daniel Pailthorpe, Paul Edmund-Davies and Patrick Gallois. I have performed under the direction of conductors such as Ashkenazy, Haitink and Norrington and worked with orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ballet and the Oxford Philharmonic. I graduated from the RCM on the Master of Performance programme with Distinction in 2016, where I also received an Artist Diploma in 2017.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching flute, piano and theory privately for 10 years and have had students of all ages and abilities. All of my students have been extremely successful in ABRSM exams. I have taught and delivered workshops on the RCM Sparks outreach programme. I have been an orchestral mentor of the Tri-Borough Music Hub and have given lessons at the City of London School. I teach the flute and piano at secondary schools including Highbury Grove Specialist Music School, Hill House, The Laurels, Portland Place and St Mary’s School, Ascot.
Tutoring Approach:
I am very passionate about teaching and take this responsibility very seriously. At the same time, I strive for lessons to be inspiring and enjoyable. It is my job to encourage my students and to fill them with motivation to progress to the best of their potential. I also believe that it's my duty to instil a love of music to my students regardless of their age or level.
