Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, he has enjoyed teaching to all levels of students from beginners to advanced.
Tutoring Experience:
Having graduated with BMus honours and an L,R.A.M (teaching diploma) from the Royal Academy of Music in 1996, Stuart has been teaching privately and within schools. Age ranges of between 8 and 65! His primary instrument is clarinet but he also plays and teaches saxophone and flute.
He taught at Bedford School for a number of years, and moved on to Malorees Junior School where he has held the position of clarinet and saxophone tutor for 11 years. He has recently moved from Manchester to Southport and is welcoming more local students.
Tutoring Approach:
Hello! So I'm a down to earth, easy-going and friendly person who lived and worked in London for 20 odd years. I moved to Manchester 7 years ago, and more recently to Southport, which is new and exciting to me (in a quieter way)
I feel my wide and varied musical performing experience is a good platform for me to approach and inspire students accordingly. I am young at heart, and i would like to think this feeds through in my teaching practice, especially to keep the lessons fun and appealing for younger students. A good rapport is crucial. I teach in a relaxed manner, but with always a focus to get the most out of my students, whether they are learning for pure pleasure, or working towards exams or concerts. feel free to contact me with any questions and enquiries.
