Information About Steve - Havant teacher

Personal Description:

I picked up a guitar when i was 8 years old (my dads). He decided i should learn to play and that set me on my way. At school I played in a band, we were awful. Even so I persevered and by the mid 1980's I was playing with a decent band and gigging. Around that time I was busking with a good friend (who could sing). We even got booked for a few events. I've continued to play and teach guitar ever since. I specialise in teaching beginners, as i can teach a range of songs that get you playing very quickly. I think its key to have real songs that you enjoy.

Tutoring Experience:

I started teaching friends and family around 20 years ago. As word spread, more and more people have asked me for lessons. Over time i have developed a structure to make learning fun and rewarding.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning should be fun. There is nothing more soul destroying than getting stuck on music theory. Rather than excersises, i teach chords, songs and melodies. This keeps things interesting and keeps my students focused and entertained. I still teach the fundamentals, but i build it around learning to play the music you love.
