Information About Stephen - Sandy teacher

Personal Description:

I’m a passionate and enthusiastic conductor, teacher and musician and have experience of teaching and performing across the world including many across Europe, America, Canada, Australia and Malaysia

I have also performed on BBC 1, BBC Radio 2 and briefly on the ‘big screen’!

I recently stopped working full time in education in order to follow a long term aspiration to become a foster carer and re-focus more fully on making music and developing aspiring musicians.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a qualified teacher and have worked in education for nearly 25 years teaching in Primary, Middle and Secondary schools and then becoming a Headteacher and School Inspector.

Throughout my career I remained an active performing musician, mainly focussed on training and conducting Championship and First Section Brass Bands in Yorkshire, The Midlands and the South East.

Tutoring Approach:

All children, young people and adults have different aspirations and learn in different ways.

What remains the same though, is that they need to enjoy learning for them to develop and make progress their best progress.

I have taught children, young people and adults from absolute beginners to Grade VIII and beyond and making sure that lessons (and home practice tasks!) are fun, challenging and stimulating has helped people of all ages and levels to meet their personal musical ambitions.
