Personal Description:
I'm a highly experienced and successful instrumental teacher of 20 years' standing. I have a 100% ABRSM exam pass rate, and my pupils have gone on to music scholarships to Winchester and the Junior Royal Academy of Music. I started playing violin at the age of five, and piano at the age of six, and still play professionally - search celebratewithmusic for details. I worked for the BBC for 20 years, including 15 years as a BBC Radio 3 producer.
Tutoring Experience:
Two decades of teaching experience - my pupils have varied in age from five to 81, and several have gone on to careers as soloists or orchestral or session musicians, as well as jobs at the BBC and elsewhere. Equally, others have been introduced to the gift that is music, and this is a skill that has accompanied them for life.
Tutoring Approach:
Unlike other teachers, I vary my repertoire and method according to the age and background of the pupil. For instance, I would teach a teenager using jazz and pop idioms, if they so desired, alongside the classical repertoire, with similar success. I am at home teaching Bach and Mozart as I am Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas. V
