Personal Description:

I am a Music Production Lecturer who teaches 14+ age ranges. I have been working in the music industry for 30 years. I own and manage a recording studio and remain a successful recording artist whom releases electronic music internationally on many record labels. One of my main passions is audio post production and I run a company called Black & Gold Audio in Cornwall where I write music and record sound for television and film, some of my most notable music has appeared on shows like American Idol, Oprah Winfrey, Sky Sports, Miami Ink, America’s Next Top Model, MTV Europe, Trinny & Susannah Undress, Storm Watches, Ribena drinks and more.

I specialise in music composition, sound engineering, music production, music scoring, mixing and mastering, music marketing and business, Intellectual Property, music promotion, music management, teaching, curriculum planning and management, course planning, session planning.

Adult Education - Lecturer in Music Technology - Levels 1&2 (2005 - Present)
dBs Music / Plymouth University - Senior Lecturer / Module Leader and & FE Leader / Edexcel Lead IV - Levels 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 (2011 - 2019)

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tuition takes on a form of both practical and theoretical learning, all of which is very digital and innovative. Google Drive is used for storage of resources, tasks and out of session learning. In the sessions I/you will use a choice of DAW's such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools and I also use the cloud based entry DAW BandLab.

Lessons will be structured to your needs (length, times and course durations) and prior skills and knowledge and can be carried out in your own home where a laptop, MIDI controllers, interfaces and software can be brought along or sessions can be carried out in my studio in Truro which is the perfect environment for real world tuition with industry standard digital systems and analogue hardware.
