Personal Description:
I am a private music teacher based in Strachan, near Banchory.
I teach children and adults of all abilities and experience. I am happy to teach weekdays during school hours and also after school.
I use the Stringbabies® method for younger pupils (aged 3-7).
As well as teaching, I lead my local amateur orchestra and I also play in the giant cello orchestra as part of the Aboyne Cello Festival.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching from home for over 14 years. I have taught all ages, from pre-school children to retired adults.
As well as playing in lessons, I encourage my pupils to play in ensembles and to perform. I have regular pupils concerts.
My pupils also play in trios, quartets, school orchestras, local amateur orchestras, county orchestras and Scottish orchestras.
Tutoring Approach:
I tailor all of my lessons to the individual. I aim to teach holistically, creating well-rounded, enthusiastic musicians who share my passion for music.
Some pupils just want to play for fun whereas others enjoy the challenge of exams. For those who wish to take exams, I enter my pupils for Trinity practical exams.
