Personal Description:
Hi, I'm an ONLINE MUSIC TEACHER based in Surrey. I teach ONLINE lessons all over the country and am the Head of Music at a local Secondary School. I specialise in Drums, Guitar, Piano, Keyboard, Music Technology, Theory, Bass and Vocals. I also provide tutoring for GCSE AND A-LEVEL Music and Music Technology. I am PGCE * QUALIFIED, DBS approved, have over 30 years experience and teach people of ALL AGES. I will inspire you to learn how to be a better musician through my knowledge, experience, passion to create music!
Tutoring Experience:
I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed teacher with a deep passion for my subject. I pride myself on my reliability, punctuality and professionalism. My aim in teaching at any level is to inspire my pupils to develop a strong understanding and appreciation of music.
I have much relevant experience in my current and previous job which will help me to teach inspire priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons. This experience includes; leading a successful music department for over 20 years; co-ordinating with peripatetic teachers; teaching Ks3 and ks4 lessons for several years, leading various ensembles including choirs, orchestras, rock bands, wind bands, steel drum bands and others; accompanying various instrumentalists over the years at concerts and assemblies on piano, drums and guitar; liaising with parents over all aspects of music education; organising various events, trips, workshops and concerts throughout the years, running the music departments budget; liaising with various outside organisations including local primary schools and Surrey Arts.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to Music Tuition is simple. I like to inspire through relationship and relatability. Of course, I have over 20 years experience, a degree in Music etc… but I believe that communication is really important. I will aim to find out early-on in the lessons what the goals of the student are and help them to work towards achieving them. I will go through the benefits and drawbacks of doing grades as well as looping and chunking material, how to practise, how to make the most or warm-ups and exercises, character traits needed to be a good musician ( or a good anything for that matter!), and a host or other valuable methods. The main thing is that the student is achieving their goals as a growing musician.
