Tutoring Approach:
My main aim in my teaching is to inspire students to enjoy playing music and to create a personal connection with their instrument. I encourage my students to find their own voice and be creative and imaginative with their instrument. I cover a wide range of topics, always trying to accommodate the needs and interests of my students. The topics include:
- Technique (becoming fluent on your instrument)
- Sound
- Learning Pieces/Tunes
- Improvisation
- Ear Training (and connecting your inner ear to your instrument)
- Listening/Transcription, discovering new music
I believe in a supportive and nurturing learning environment - one that pushes and challenges but doesn't overwhelm. Music is at it's best when it's fun!
