Personal Description:
I am a professional cellist based in North London. I have experience playing with a range of professional orchestras, and have performed solo recitals in many venues across the UK, and have graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in performance. I have nearly a decade’s worth teaching experience with both solo playing and chamber music, and I am happy to teach across a range of ages and abilities.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching in London for around five years, both in priva**Contact Detail Removed**ssons and in chamber music settings, such as Pro Corda Young String Project. I have also coached beginner and intermediate chamber groups at residential courses. I have familiarity with the ABRSM exam system, both as a teacher and as a student myself!
Tutoring Approach:
As a teacher, I allow my own experience as a student to shape what I wish to pass on to others. My goal with all students is to allow them the freedom to express themselves the way they wish, but what each student requires will always be different, and I make it my role to determine what is needed to help the student achieve what they wish. No matter the skill or level of a student, I want to help them believe in their own ability to improve and reach the level they desire, and I find that this is done through myself having belief in the student’s ability. Above all, I want the process of learning to be a positive one, and for it to be something that will impact the student not only in their playing skill, but across all disciplines.
