Personal Description:

Hello, my name is Rosa! I am currently studying for a Masters Degree in Vocal Jazz Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Due to my love of performing I am confident, smiley and outgoing, offering good communication and ability. I am extremely hard-working and possess a lot of determination in completing tasks successfully and efficiently. My passion for music not only stems from the great, inspiring teachers I have had the opportunity to have whilst growing up, but also through my love of creativity. I have completed a first-class honours degree in Music from the University of Bristol, ABRSM Grade 8 Signing with Distinction and Grade 8 Piano. I would love to be able to inspire budding musicians and pass on my knowledge.

Tutoring Experience:

I have worked as a private singing and piano teacher since 2018 and have had very positive feedback from my students. I place a strong emphasis on making sure my students are enjoying their time with me, and focus on healthy singing technique, with a blended sound.
During my undergraduate degree I was the Musical Director for The Bristol Suspensions, an award-winning A Cappella group, and since have featured as a vocal arranger and performer on various albums, and continue to work as a session musician in London alongside my postgraduate degree.

Tutoring Approach:

The most vital aspect of music tuition is fun! Learning an instrument should never feel like a chore and I believe that the best way to approach teaching is through enthusiasm, encouragement and enjoyment. If a student enjoys their subject, they are more likely to succeed and make good progress. I strive to create a fun and comfortable environment and hope to inspire students through my passion and understanding of the subjects on offer. As well as this, I believe that a true understanding of the basics and fundamental skills are required to be an accomplished musician, especially when learning an instrument/voice. When approaching Vocal tuition I focus on vowel placement, support and using the voice healthily. I enjoy working with aspiring singers of all ages and abilities in order to help people sing the music they love in the healthiest way possible. I am able to help prepare pupils for concerts, exams, and teach the foundations of music to anyone wanting to learn how to read music and increase their musicality.
I encourage my students to foster a strong and healthy vocal technique, excellent musicianship and strong performance ability.
