Information About Robert - Barnet teacher

Personal Description:

Dear all,

My name is Rob , I am 21 years old and a recent BA graduate of music composition with a first class degree.

I am currently based in Barnet (EN4), but happy to travel within reason.

Tutoring Experience:

This is my first venture into teaching (as such, my prices reflect that). I do, however, have experience in other aspects of music; my string quartet was recently performed by the prestigious Allegri String Quartet, I am currently working as a music publicist and as a freelance music critic.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim, is to impart a love and a deep understanding of music. I think it is important to be knowledgeable both about the history of music and current contemporary music trends in order to form a unique and individual compositional voice.

My other goal is to teach students the craft of composition; how to turn their ideas into fully developed musical pieces, how to write for specific instruments and instrumental combinations, how to notate in as clear a way possible for the performer to read.

I know how frustrating it can be to have a great musical idea but to lack the knowledge to develop it and turn it into something you are ultimately happy with. I would be delighted to help you with this.
