Personal Description:
Hello folks!
I'm offering Bass Guitar tuition both online and face to face (Bristol area) for all those wanting to learn and improve their bass playing.
I've been working as a professional bass player since 2010 and have toured extensively accross Europe and the UK. I use this experience in my lessons to not only teach you the technique and theory required to become a great bass player, but also essential skills that will help you in live situations.
Below are some of the artists that I've been fortuante enough to perform alongside.
Danny Toeman, The Mike Ross Band, The Jezebel Sextet, Billie Ray Martin, Izo Fitzroy, Nell Bryden, Pama International, Alexia Coley, The Black Olives, Matilda Gratte, Aloma Music, Motor City Revue among others
Tutoring Experience:
I have been doing private tuition locally over the past few years and I like to make the lessons as fun and engaging as possible. I have a great relationship with all my students and I cover repertoire (learning songs), technique, chart reading, and music theory (chords, triads, scales etc). These will give you the skills needed to become a well rounded bass player who has confidence to play in band setups.
I'm available for both face to face lessons and online lessons via Zoom. For the face to face lessons I will travel to a location of your choosing within a 10 mile radius of Bristol. For the Zoom lessons I will send over a link for the Zoom meeting and send over any handouts that we'll need for the lesson.
Tutoring Approach:
I'm very passionate about what I do and when it comes to lessons, I cover all things that are essential to become a great bass player.
We'll focus on learning rhythm and technique by playing popular songs.
I'll teach you how to read and understand charts.
We'll go through the different chords and scales so that you'll have the skills and knowledge to create your own bass lines.
If you'd like to go through grades, I offer Trinity Rock and Pop or Rockschool. Both offer a well rounded approach to learning and contain some fun songs to play along to.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual student and if you're particularly passionate about a certian style. We'll make that the main focus going forward.
All lessons can be done online via Zoom or face to face at a location of your choosing.
I offer a free 45 minute introductory lesson where you can tell me what you'd like from the lessons and we can come up with a plan to suits your needs.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll aim to get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks for reading.
