I've got 20 years of teaching vocal performers internationally. I'm excited to apply everything I've learned with new singers.

Tutoring Experience:

Genres: pop, rock, folk and any contemporary style where you need to make the song your own.

I've worked with individuals and groups in universities, schools, choirs, recording studios and privately across Europe and the USA.

In private 1-to-1 lessons I've taught singers that solo and accompany themselves for gigs and for fun, lead bands, sing in choirs, win karaoke competitions, do musical theatre and successfully audition for all sorts of singing parts.

In universities, I've coached students singing to achieve excellent marks in contemporary music, using a wide range of performance technology and performing their own contemporary music compositions, as well as group workshops. I've also worked with dance and drama students for highly demanding physical performances - some of those students were complete beginners that were doing professional singing performances within 3 months.

I've also worked in university accessibility support and I'm able to adjust my style to suit a wide range of learning needs.

I work with people who are looking to develop the uniqueness of their voice. Whether you want a tutor to help you towards your creative direction, or you're looking for help to refine and define your artistic vision, I have years of experience working with vocalists who create individual new music.

I use a combination of improvisation, play, techniques, and technology in lessons.

I listen to what you're interested in, what music you love, what you want for your voice, and help point the way towards that. I can also help you refine your ability to communicate with other musicians to increase your support network.

Good technique is super important for the health and longevity of your voice. I recommend exercises and practice techniques that are tailored to your voice and genre. All exercises I give you help you work towards your artistic purpose.

Mic technique and using your voice with technology is also important for getting your voice out there. From live or online performances to the recording studio, I can coach you on how to use different kinds of microphones and technology, and how to work with sound engineers to achieve the sound you are looking for.

I'll never pick songs for you, I don't believe there is only one right way to sing, and I don't teach grade exams. I just work with you to discover your full potential as a unique vocal performer.
