Personal Description:
I have been playing the flute for over 20 years and have performing experience all over the UK in many different genres (including classical orchestras, recitals, chamber groups, salsa bands, folk groups, improvisation). I graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with an MA with Distinction in 2018 and studied my Music Degree BMus at Newcastle University.
I additionally have played the piano for 15 years and have experience as an accompanist and solo performer in classical piano and popular music and I teach music theory.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience teaching students of all ages and abilities as a peripatetic music teacher in schools and as a private teacher. My current teaching ranges from preparing students for auditions to leading flute choirs and ensembles in schools. A number of my students have achieved music scholarships at secondary schools.
I regularly prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity College exams with a 100% pass rate and many students achieving high marks.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy working with pupils of all ages and abilities and structure lessons to suit the individual, whether you wish to learn for fun or to pass exams.
I teach many of my flute and piano students online and find this method of teaching has proven very successful over the last few years.
I also teach in person at my flat in North London or can travel to your home if you live locally.
