Information About Radha - Muswell Hill teacher

Personal Description:

Hi! My name's Radha, I'm 19 years old and I've played the violin since I was 5 years old. I have achieved a Grade 8 Distinction (2020) and a Grade 5 Theory (2018) and have studied with both ABRSM and Trinity exam boards. Furthermore, I have played with multiple orchestras and achieved a 9 on my GCSE Music.
My favourite piece to play is the Zlotan Kodaly Double Dance (Kallai Kettos) and my favourite musical project ever has to be my GCSE Music free composition.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored violin before (at grade II level) and have assisted friends and family in achieving their Grade 5 Theory. I also teach sportsclasses aged 4 to mid 70s and thus have over 3 years experience teaching a variety of ages

Tutoring Approach:

My approach can take two directions:
Exam based approach:
This approach aims to prepare students for grade exams. It consists of spending time teaching and then fine-combing through their pieces and other exam elements. This includes filming the exam and practice runs.

Repertoire based approach:
This approach is more liberal and allows us to find music that the student enjoys in within their playing abilities but outside their comfort zone and use studies and scales to teach the core skills around the pieces.
