Personal Description:
I am a friendly music teacher with a passion for both classical and contemporary music. As a pianist and cellist, I have developed a well-rounded understanding of musical expression and performance, which I love to share with my students. I also play guitar, drums, ukulele, and sing. My teaching philosophy is grounded in fostering both technical proficiency and a genuine love for music. Beyond classical repertoire, I enjoy teaching students how to play pop songs using chords, making lessons engaging and versatile for learners of all ages and interests.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience teaching cello to students of beginning level, but I am confident in preparing students for examinations or performances in cello and piano.
I specialize in helping students build solid foundations while developing their musicality and confidence. For piano, I focus on areas such as sight-reading, chord progressions, and improvisation, alongside traditional classical training. On the cello, I emphasize posture, bowing technique, and tone production.
In addition to classical training, I also teach how to play pop songs using chords. This approach appeals to students who want to explore a more relaxed, modern style of playing while developing practical skills like harmonization and rhythm.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching piano and cello is both structured and adaptable. I tailor lessons to suit each student’s goals and preferences, ensuring they stay motivated and inspired. For classical students, I incorporate scales, etudes, and repertoire to build technique and artistry. For those interested in pop or contemporary music, I teach chord-based playing and improvisation, helping them quickly learn their favorite songs and understand music theory in a practical way.
Regardless of the style, I strive to make lessons enjoyable and enriching. My goal is to provide students with the tools they need to express themselves through music while building discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love for playing.
