Information About Phillippa - Chinnor teacher

Personal Description:

I am a music graduate of the University of Oxford and have a rich background in performance, musicology, music history, and theory. I have studied with faculty members of the Manhattan School of Music and Amsterdam Conservatoire in addition to having received tution from Patrick Kelly, Ben Castle, Mark Lockhart and Stan Sulzmann. I am a highly experienced performer with credits including performances at the Royal Festival Hall, London's 606 jazz club, Brecon Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Amsterdam Conservatoire's Blue Note, the Russian Tea Rooms in New York City and Bryant Park (NYC). I have performed with the Pendulum Jazz Orchestra, Peter King, Guy Barker, Don Weller, Clark Tracey, Mark Lockhart, Julian Siegel, Christian Garrick and Steve Waterman amongst others. I was the lead saxophonist and conductor/president of the Oxford University Jazz Orchestra with whom I toured New York City.

Tutoring Experience:

I have provided tuition in saxophone, piano, theory of music and jazz improvisation (on any instrument) for 13 years to pupils of school, university and adult age. I can also support pupil's academic music studies.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach pupils online.

Lessons can be as in depth or as casual as the pupil prefers. I can assist with exam preparation or teach those who want to learn just for fun.

I am flexible with regards to scheduling - lessons can take place on a regular basis or more infrequently, as and when the student requires.
