Personal Description:
Petra **Removed By Admin** grew up in Sweden where Hans Pålsson had the most profound influence on her musical development. At the age of 16 she was offered a place to study at Edsberg – the Music College of the Swedish Radio outside Stockholm.Two years later she received a British Council Scholarship to further her studies in London with Peter Feuchtwanger and Ruth Nye. In addition, she has participated in masterclasses with Hans Leygraf and Christof Lieske at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, with Kenneth Gilbert and Jordi Savall and received coaching in chamber music from Frans Helmersson, Endre and Jennifer Wolf, Lars Frydén, William Pleeth, Karine Georgian, Manough Parikian and Stephen Isserlis amongst others. Since her solo recital debut aged 15 and her concerto debut 3 years later, Petra has had a varied career, combining solo playing with playing chamber music throughout Europe, New Zealand and the USA as well as working with singers, dancers and in the theatre and she has composed music for film.
Tutoring Experience:
Petra **Removed By Admin** has many years experience as a piano teacher and chamber music coach both privately and in various schools in the London area, including the Junior Guilhall School of Music and Drama, at Pimlico School's Special Music Course and she is at present tutor at the Centre for Young Musicians at Morley College in London and at Graveney School in Tooting. In addition, she runs workshops and gives lecture recitals.
Tutoring Approach:
Petra **Removed By Admin** works with children and adults alike at all levels of learning and she incorporates the principles of Yoga and The Alexander Technique in her holistic approach to teaching.She will develop a programme of study to suit the needs of each individual pupil. Preparing for formal examinations is only optional.
