Personal Description:
I offer 30 minu**Contact Detail Removed**ssons for £20 per lesson
I first picked up the guitar at 17 to play music with a friend at school. Within a year I was playing in a band and helped put on a big end of year gig at the school. From there I went to college and got my degree in music while gigging around Essex and London in an originals band as well as some function band shows. After college was behind me I started teaching guitar privately as well as playing in the pit for various musicals in London and Essex.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching guitar and bass privately for five years. I teach in a relaxed style that lets the student have fun, while still getting results. A number of students have gone on to pass their grades under my tutelage, but many more just want to get better at their instrument. I find short term goals are a great way of spurring students on to better themselves (learning a set of chords, a scale or a song) and to, ultimately, have fun on their chosen instrument.
Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my lessons specifically to the each student. Some want to get through their grades and so a more academic approach would be necessary. A student learning for fun and relaxation probably won't want to delve too deeply into music theory and would rather learn songs and how to play music together.
Depending on the student I have taught: RGT grades, reading music, a variety of songs and styles from rock to pop music to metal to jazz. In the end you're the boss: what you want to learn is what I will teach.
