Personal Description:
Having spent 28 years as a professional musician in London, doing sessions, shows and touring I have recently relocated with my family to the Essex coast.
Tutoring Experience:
As well as teaching privately, I have worked as a peripatetic flute and saxophone teacher in London since graduating in 1985, first for the Inner London Education Authority and then the London Boroughs of Islington, Haringey and Camden. I am currently a woodwind tutor at the Centre of Young Musicians based at Morley College where I run the Dance Band as well as regular deps at the City Literary Institute giving group flu**Contact Detail Removed**ssons to mixed ability adult learners (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes).
Tutoring Approach:
I will always be led by the pupil, working with them to find the best way for them to learn. I have experience in tutoring children as young as 3 right up to adults well into retirement and have always found the best way to learn is to have fun. Exams are at the discretion of the pupil - I think they can be useful motivation and can give a sense of achievement but they are not for everyone.
