Personal Description:
I'm a private Oboe and Piano teacher, as well as a freelancing oboist.
I graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a Master degree.
I mostly teach children (and mature students too!). I work well with children as my teaching method includes a fun side along with a thorough education.
Tutoring Experience:
I have more than 10 years of experience teaching privately and in schools. I have taught students from the age of four to adults, so I am more than happy to teach all the ages.
I have taught many students who take the grading exams such as ABRSM, Trinity and for competitions.
As a result of my teaching one of my students was awarded 3rd prize in the 2019 America Mountain West International Piano Festival & Competition; and 2nd prize in the 2019 Hua Biao International Piano Open Competition.
Another three of my students were also awarded the 2019 Wienner Mozart Internationnaler Klawvierwettbewerb: 2nd prize and 3rd prizes.
For myself, I have also received the 2019 America Mountain West International Piano Festival & Competition; as well as the 2019 Hua Biao International Piano Open Competition, both for “Excellent Piano Teacher”.
I really enjoy teaching beginners, it is always a good thing to see my students start the first step with Piano and Oboe and see the progress made!
2013 to 2014: Chang Ping No. 2 High school of Beijing, Teaching children the Oboe.
2018 to Present: Private Oboe, Piano and music theory teacher.
Tutoring Approach:
I'm from Taiwan, so my native language is Mandarin, but I also speak fluent English since I have studied in the UK as well as residing in the UK.
Having taught in both languages, it has helped me develop my communication skills in my teaching.
I really enjoy teaching children, to watch them grow to an excellent stage is most rewarding.
I believe everyone can learn music; I like to show they can enjoy the feeling of playing music and what it gives to us.
I respect each of the student's individuality and help them develop all the love and skill for music.
I also offer 30/45 mins lessons too!
