Information About Nicholas - Mayfair teacher

Personal Description:

I am a professional guitarist based in London. I hold a Master’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. I perform regular recitals, both solo and as a member of various chamber groups.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching in schools and at client's homes in London since 2018. I teach students ranging from the ages of 4 to 18+ years, and accommodate different styles of guitar playing - classical, electric and acoustic. For beginners I use an established method to teach the technique of guitar playing which has proven reliable and effective. I have successfully coached students through ABRSM and Trinity College grade exams from a beginner level up to Grade 8.

Tutoring Approach:

My experience as a musician and performer informs how I teach. In my own musical career I have gained valuable insight into a variety of musical styles, performance practices and teaching methods which I use to instruct my students.

The focus of my teaching is to foster an attitude of enthusiasm so that students enjoy learning to play their instrument throughout their life. I achieve this by closely monitoring each student's progress and helping them become confident in their musical ability.
